Behjat
has been a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor since 1994. She
has an MA in Counseling Education from California State University
in San Bernardino, 1976. Her advanced training includes Strategic
Family Therapy, Sandtray and Jungian Sandplay, Gestalt Therapy, Certified
Domestic Violence Counselor, Addiction and Obsessive Compulsive Disorders.
Behjat works with children
and adolescents ages 8 and up, families, including same gender parents,
individual adults, and couples. She is also a school
counselor, providing counseling services for general education
and special education students and their families. As an Iranian
immigrant, she is bilingual in English and Farsi, and she is highly
skilled in working with diverse and multicultural populations.
Behjat is eclectic in her
therapeutic approach with her clients. She utilizes an array of therapeutic
methods such as: cognitive-behavioral and Solution Focused, skilled
based education, interactive methods such as Sandtray and art, Gestalt,
family systems, and any other modality that will best meet the needs
of her clients. Her primary concern is to meet the cultural and unique
needs of individuals and families in her practice.
